Tasked with guarding a nuclear missile silo, two soldiers find themselves forgotten by their government. When the orders stop arriving, as do their paychecks, they decide to mingle with the local populace. At first, the apocalyptic weapon in their hands overshadows their efforts at a normal life. Until they decide to take what they have been handed, and give it a new, uncharacteristally peaceful, purpose…

Part war story, part satire, “Nukes Into Plowshares” deals with the consequences of excessive rearmament. A topic that, sadly, is a current one.
