In a country recovering from a lengthy war, forester Oksana Karpova and her family are rebuilding their lives. One day, a peculiar, inept foreigner stumbles into their town with a seemingly ludicrous idea – to harness the power of lightning. More out of pity than anything, Oksana and her daughter decide to lend a hand. The outcome is nothing they could ever have expected.

Based on the first-hand accounts of many Ukrainians, “Lightning in a Bottle” paints an optimistic vision of a post-war society, in which seemingly destructive technologies can be turned into a force for good.
