Rachel Luttrell

Rachel Luttrell is an entertainment industry professional with more than thirty years of experience in front of and behind the camera.

She is best known for her star turn as Teyla Emmagan, a character she portrayed for five seasons on the beloved Sci-Fi TV Series Stargate Atlantis (SGA).

She studied her craft with some of the world’s most celebrated teachers in Los Angeles, Canada and The UK, including Academy Award winning actor Alan Rickman and BAFTA award winning actress Fiona Shaw, and the late John Barton at the British American Drama Academy (BADA) in Oxford, UK, training alongside Ruth Negga.

Rachel studied dance from an early age with instructors from the Bolshoi Ballet at The Russian Academy of Classical Ballet in Toronto, Canada. Her first vocal coach was her father, William Luttrell, Jr., who sang with the London Symphony Chorus, The Elmer Iseler Singers and as a member of the chorus in the Canadian Opera Company.

Her career extends from the stage to TV and Film. Her musical production appearances include the Canadian premier of Miss Saigon at Toronto’s Princess Of Wales Theatre, and the Canadian premier production of Beauty and The Beast also at the Princess of Wales Theatre. Rachel’s other theater credits include the lead role in the inaugural production of Las Meninas by Pulitzer Prize winning and Tony nominated playwright Lynn Nottage. Rachel has also worked with celebrated Broadway director Richard Jay-Alexander in an intimate production of the musical Great Expectations featuring Cloris Leachman.

Her TV guest star roles are many from Arrow to Charmed to NCIS and Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce. She has worked with Naomi Watts, Bryan Cranston, Jason Momoa and the late Eartha Kitt to name a few.She has also worked with industry icons Norman Lear and Anne Rice for whom she embodied the lead role of Lisette in Rice’s miniseries The Feast of All Saints. The character was Rice’s self-professed favorite and Rachel’s deft portrayal won her high praise from the esteemed author.

Rachel has written three feature film scripts, written and produced three short films, and directed one short film.

She moved to Georgia as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe family and has since worked on Avengers: Infinity War, Guardians of The Galaxy and Zombieland: Double Tap.

Rachel is the proud Mom of two wonderful children. Both are young actors whom she coaches. Their current combined work titles include Lodge 49, a Jack Harlow Music Video, Shattered, with John Malkovich, a starring role in Netflix’s LOU, opposite Allison Janney and Jurnee Smollett and a starring role in Outerlands, premiering at SXSW March 2025.
